A couple of weeks ago, we had a big rainstorm here.

It was more rain than we've had in a long time - and that on top of a dry summer.

The Falls was roaring. It looked like some raging brown monster.

It was hard to avoid getting wet - especially if you wanted to get close.

They evacuated Valley Court trailers, because the creek was flooding and they were afraid it'd wash out the bridge. (It didn't, though.)

All in all, it was a lot of fun - and a great introduction to Georgia for those students from places without much rainfall (like Southern California).

Hey! I've been waiting to see these pics and they are really good! How wet did you get taking them and who is in your pic? Wish you could have seen our backyard--it looked like the "little Mississippi". We now have a sandbar in the yard.

Wow! Great pictures! Too bad for us in Alabama that your watershed goes to the Atlantic (I think), because our water table is still low. But maybe some of the same Georgia rain fell on "our side" of the mountains.

(I think my earlier attempt to post this failed--apologies if it appears twice.:
