Tomorrow I leave for two weeks of summer school in South Carolina. I'm taking a course in the history of Christianity from the Reformation until today, and a course in missions. That sounds very exciting, and a lot of fun, but I have way too much to do.

I'm preaching at church in the morning, then I have to pack and drive up, then classes start at 8am on Monday and last until 5pm. Moreover, I have 300 pages to read by Wednesday.

When I get back from the two weeks of summer school, I'll have lots of collateral reading left to do, plus papers and projects. On top of that, I'm teaching summer school, a class I've never taught before (American Lit II), as soon as I get back. On the last day of the class I'm teaching, I'm leaving to spend a couple of weeks up north with some friends of mine.

A week after I get back, preplanning starts for the fall. So, no, I don't really have a lot of free time this summer.
