Last week a student knocks on my door.

"Professor, I had you for Freshman Comp three years ago. I got a D in the class. I just realized I needed a C- or better or I have to retake the class. I was wondering if you wanted to change my D to a C-?"

"No."

"Okay. Well, just checking."

The student leaves.
